Where I fish there are lots of Permits & Croakers and they put up a real fight, the pocket fisherman has done its job so thus far... I would most definitely recommend this product to anyone with fishing as an interest. I am planning on purchasing another for my son, who likes the feel of the Ronco Pocket fisherman. I was looking for something to put in my survival kit/bug out bag. (Do some research on the Federal Reserve folks!) I originally was going to buy the Coleman Fishpen or something similar, but I was convinced it would break too easily, and I bought this one instead.I'm glad I did, and I think I'm going to buy a few more of them. I haven't attempted to catch a fish with it yet but I have practiced casting with it a bit. Cons The device is hardly pocket sized, maybe you could manage to stuff it in the cargo pocket of your fatigues, but putting it in the back or front pocket of your jeans just isn't realistic.
